Discipline - A Series. The Skincare Edit.
discipline . A series - the SKINCARe edit
Yeah, after my last post about how your marathon of beauty routines is quite literally making you mentally strong, I thought I’d share some of mine, broken up into a bite size series for you (cause we’re not gonna lie, it can get pleasantly overwhelming).
My approach is structured, intentional and sustainable.I’m not about doing everything. - your gals busy, but I like doing the right things well.
Here’s what’s currently working for me. This is the routine that I’m using to progressively keep my skin clear, healthy, and resilient. You’ll notice I’m very loyal to the brands I love. #sorrynotsorry.
The Non-Negotiables face care:
This routine doesn’t change much and I guess that’s the point.
Morning:
I wash my face only with water in the morning as I’m trying to heal my skin barrier.
Cold therapy: I start most mornings with either cold eye patches or an ice roller. It de-puffs, wakes up my face, and frankly just feels like you have your life together.
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner
La Roche-Posay Vitamin C Anti Wrinkle Serum
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive Prebiotic Moisturiser.
La Roche-Posay facial SPF or Mecca To Save Face sunscreen, every single day. No exceptions. Even when it’s cloudy. Even when I’m indoors.
Evening:
Double cleanse with:
La Roche-Posay Lipikar Huile Lavante AP+ Cleansing Oil – especially since SPF or makeup was involved.
Kate Somerville Eradicate Daily Cleanser
The Ordinary Retinol.
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Repairing Balm Cream on my nose only.
Currently testing Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream.
Once this is all try, ill dab off the extra and pop some scar tape on my forehead to help lift and avoid wrinkles (occasionally).
Body Care:
Body care is where I lean in a little more and it’s also where fragrance layering begins for me. (I’m obsessed with fragrance).
Dry brushing: every morning before I shower. It’s energising and helps with circulation and lymphatic drainage. Plus, it’s a ritual that takes less than two minutes and signals to my body that the day’s starting.
Exfoliating: 2–3x a week, usually with the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Scrub with a exfoliating glove.
Shower Moisisturiser: Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner Lush.
Post-shower: I apply body oil to damp skin, always. I follow with a moisturiser — not for hydration (the oil already handled that), but for scent (I could argue I handled this already also).
This is where I layer, build depth, and leave the room with a trace of something that always makes me feel fantastic.
Fragrance is one of the few things in a routine that is both functional and indulgent and as a fragrance girly I take it seriously - I’m currently using Palmers Body Oil, Lush Super Milk Glitter Mist Spray, and the tiniest spritz of fragrance (currently Lush Rose Jam or Maison Crivelli Hibiscus, but Tom Ford Lost Cherry is SO on my radar).
Things I'm Still Deciding On: Red-Light & Fake Tan
Let’s talk transparency. I haven’t tried red-light therapy consistently yet — even though I’m fully aware of the benefits and there’s a beautiful clinic near me. I just haven’t made the time. But when I do, I’ll share everything: results, realistic expectations, and whether it’s worth it.
Same goes for fake tanning. I’ve been researching brands because I want one that’s clean, non-streaky, and ideally one that won’t undo everything else I’m doing in terms of fragrance. If you have one you love feel free to send it my way, I’d love to know the deets.
